Job Title: Financial Analyst
Reporting to: VP, Finance & Corporate Development
Location: Burbank, CA (Hybrid)
Summary
Legendary Entertainment is seeking a Financial Analyst for its Finance & Corporate Development group. The group is focused on corporate finance, corporate development, and strategic planning. This individual will work with senior management and report directly to the VP of the group.
Responsibilities
• Build and maintain financial models to analyze the potential profitability of individual films, TV shows, and digital projects.
• Work with cross-functional teams in both strategy formulation as well as results delivery phases of projects.
• Create presentations for senior management on various aspects of the film, TV, and digital industries including trends and new technologies.
• Assist in the creation of the company’s annual business plan and quarterly reporting to owners.
• Assist with the company’s corporate financial model (GAAP & Cash basis).
• Perform ad-hoc analysis into issues and questions raised by leadership to inform decision-making.
• Additional duties as required.
Experience & Skills
• Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university, with a strong GPA
• 2 years of work experience, ideally with a background in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, and/or strategy at a leading media or technology company
• Previous experience working on media/entertainment projects preferred
• Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative skills, including strong financial modeling abilities
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to present and defend research to senior management
• Comfort with ambiguity; strong judgment and ability to make well-informed decisions
• Ability to build trust-based relationships and effectively collaborate across several departments
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Self-starter who can identify problems, outline solutions, and drive execution
• Strong general communication, writing, and presentation skills
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
