Summary of Position:
Legendary is in search of a Director/VP of Consumer Products and Promotions to oversee the business end-to-end across all categories. This position will report directly to the EVP Franchise Management and is embedded in the marketing department. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, has a variety of relationships from licensees and agents to retailers and brands in major territories around the world. This is a unique opportunity to build the business from the ground up and be part of Legendary’s future growth plans.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee Consumer Products Licensing and Promotional Partnerships for Legendary Pictures, TV, Comics and other owned/managed IPs in the portfolio
• Prioritize business development efforts for North America while managing a network of international agents in other territories
• Build Legendary’s profile and relationships with major brands, advertisers and agencies while working closely with internal production and marketing teams
• Coordinate with studio partners to execute promotional partnership campaigns while managing informational flow with 3rd party IP partners
• Participate in the planning process for new IPs in both film and TV
• Manage the product development process with creative services and drive any necessary brand development needs
• Work closely with the theatrical and TV marketing teams to cross promote and create additional marketing value for each campaign and to support retail
Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
• Prior licensing/consumer products/promotions experience from a licensor or agency is strongly preferred
• Experience working on well-known or global entertainment IPs
• Track record of building strong relationships across various categories and negotiating complex and innovative deals
• Minimum 10 years of experience in licensing/consumer products/retail business development
• Creative in thinking but knows how to manage a P&L
• Must have impeccable diplomacy and problem-solving skills
