Job Title: Coordinator, TV Development
Reporting to: President, Television, EVP, Television & Digital Media and SVP, Television & Digital Media
Location: Burbank, CA (Hybrid)
Summary
Legendary Entertainment is looking for a Coordinator, Development to join our Television group. This position will work as part of the development team to support the day-to-day development needs of our Television programs. The coordinator will participate in the development process of all scripted programming and primarily around researching and sourcing IP for possible acquisition and development. The ideal candidate would have worked on a creative team within Television or talent agency, along with a demonstrated passion for the television and entertainment industry.
Responsibilities
• Generate and maintain submission, pitch, and coverage logs, staffing grids, development reports, status reports, writer and director lists, competitive tracking, and other documents and databases for all aspects of development and production. As well as research writer, director, and actor lists.
• Provide creative input, script analysis, notes, and coverage for new material submitted for development consideration and/or in various stages of development. Compile notes, facts, and pertinent information in preparation for meetings.
• Researching, sourcing, and reading material and giving creative notes on projects, and writing coverage with summary and analysis.
• Familiarizing themselves with and exploring IP across various platforms, from manuscripts to games, comics, podcasts, etc.
• Sitting in on development meetings and taking notes.
• Helping generate ideas and develop concepts.
• Support various aspects of the creative process.
• Contribute to creative feedback during the pitch/script development process and during production.
• Maintain and establish new relationships with the creative community (writers, producers, and performers), agents, and managers with the end goal of identifying outside material and talent for Legendary Television.
• Prepare key talent, pitches & coverage updates with team members across all groups to generate further notes and input.
• Support relevant Filmtrack input and activity for the television creative team
• Stay informed of trade news, position changes, announcements, hot topics.
• Office and administrative duties as needed.
• Special duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Minimum of 2 years Development experience preferably in Television
• Previous entertainment agency experience preferred
• Excellent organization skills, acute attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic, and time-sensitive environment in a content development related role
• Direct experience handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity
• Ability to establish and maintain effective business partnerships
• Determined, self-motivated, and eager to take on new challenges with an exceptional worth ethic, discreet and honest demeanor
• A desire and passion to work in television series content across a range of scripted genres
• Proficient in MS Office; Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
