We are LBI Media, Inc., the largest privately-held, minority-owned Spanish-language broadcaster in the United States with TV and radio stations operating in several top Hispanic markets, parent company of the Estrella TV Network, and the only US based Producer of Spanish-language programming. Position Summary:
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the scheduling of TV production staff. The Scheduling Coordinator will ensure employees are scheduled in an efficient manner consistent with company policy and labor wage and hour policies. This position works closely with Executive Producers and Head of Programming.
Responsibilities:
• Review staffing on a daily basis to ensure staff scheduling is compliant with company policies and Federal wage and hour regulations.
• Ensure the information in accurately uploaded and reflected in the scheduling software in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the Executive Producer of each show to plan weekly schedules and respond to unexpected situations (e.g. sickness, weather, travel delays) and carry out plans to ensure each show has sufficient and appropriate staffing.
• Resolve problems that arise during the day-to-day operation.
• Ensure that crew is pre-approved for hire by HR and rates are updated in the payroll system.
• Ensure that changes to the schedule are communicated to staff in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head of Production.
Requirements:
• Effective verbal, telephone, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• One years' experience in a television programming, production or operations preferred.
• Ability to think proactively, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
• Intermediate-level Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Word.
• Positive attitude, team player with excellent multitasking and organizational ability.
• Thrive in a fast paced environment; meet tight deadlines.
• Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish; strong oral communicator in both languages.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work overtime, holiday or weekends.
• Must be willing to work in Burbank, CA.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background investigation.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older.
