How do I hire a DP for 1-Day Narrative Short Film?
Director of Photography needed for a narrative short filming in the Los Angeles-area. The story is set in 1963, shot in one interior.
The director's previous feature film was a New York Film Critics Series Pick by Peter Travers (Rolling Stone) and he was subsequently chosen for Ryan Murphy Television's Half Initiative Director Mentorship Program for diverse filmmakers in Film/TV. The director is an alum of NYU's Tisch.
Looking for a collaborative and resourceful DP who has experience or is comfortable working with a small skeleton crew (both for on-set COVID safety as well as shoot efficiency), in addition to having a compelling visual perspective and isn't afraid to utilize shadows. A DP with camera/gear is a plus but not a requirement (this would up the rate to accommodate).
Production Specifics: One day night shoot (likely a Saturday), however, production is willing to adjust for the right candidate. We're looking forward to a successful and safe shoot in a collaborative, ego-free environment.
Pay based upon rates/experience. This is a very small shoot with a very talented director.
REQUIREMENT: For the safety of all cast/crew, we are requiring that all individuals on this production be vaccinated given the very small size of this shoot. Individuals must be willing to follow all COVID safety protocols during production. Thank you!
