Job Title: Manager Marketing, Social Media
Department: Las Vegas Aviators Marketing
Reports To: General Manager/VP of Aviators Marketing
FLSA Status: Full-Time / Salary
Candidates must have a deep and detailed knowledge of the game of baseball and the Oakland Athletics organization.
The Las Vegas Aviators are searching for a driven, creative, and well-rounded individual to plan, coordinate, post, and monitor social media content for the Las Vegas Aviators and Las Vegas Ballpark accounts. Will be responsible to increase audience, affinity, engagement, and views across the team's social platforms.
This individual must possess a keen understanding of the social media landscape and will identify unique opportunities to engage fans in collaboration with ticket sales, sponsorship team and outside events to develop content unique to each social platform.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide in-game live action updates on all game activities for both home and away games
• Demonstrate creativity and the ability to post engaging content several times a day across all social platforms
• Develop original content series across social and digital platforms
• Maintain a year-round content calendar for both social media and marketing initiatives with collaboration efforts through Minor League Baseball
• Have a keen understanding for baseball statistics and tracking. While able to report regularly on player performance and team standings and statistics
• This role will cover all facets of the Las Vegas Aviators brand, including but not limited to baseball activities, Las Vegas Ballpark Entertainment, food/beverage/retail, community
• Monitor social media trends, tracking clearly-defined KPIs, and reporting on player and club social metrics
• Developing content for social ad buys
• Build the brand and drive revenue through ticket sales and corporate partnerships
• Create on the spot graphics packages for each social platform
• Own all aspects of social giveaways, contests and sweepstakes, from communication with legal to shipment of product
• Tracking and reporting across all the club's digital and social properties on a monthly basis
• Assistance with Aviators and Las Vegas Ballpark websites
• Assistance with Aviators portion of Summerlin App
• This role is also responsible for the creation, maintenance and programming of the Las Vegas Aviators Junior Aviators Kids Club
• Serve as a brand lead for all departments and special events meetings
• Will be responsible for the hiring and management of up to two marketing employees to assist with marketing projects related to social media coverage, Kids Club, Aviators appearances, etc.
PREFERRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
• Passion for Sports and Entertainment; experience in other Entertainment fields outside of MLB or Sports is a plus
• Strong familiarity with managing Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts and experience creating Instagram Stories
• Healthy interest in data-driven decision-making with experience in Stellar Algo
• Strong prioritization, time management, and organization skills
• Ability to work under extremely fast turnaround times
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe Creative Cloud, Web Design with UX priority, Email Campaign building, and hunger to improve your craft
• Exceptional writing ability and strong understanding of English grammar
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing or Communications
• 2-3 years of experience, with a one-year minimum working in Minor or Major League Baseball
• Must possess strong communication and people skills; be personable, enthusiastic, professional and courteous
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• This position will require a flexible schedule as night and weekend coverage should be expected
• Candidates will be expected to maintain professionalism at all times, especially when working with professional athletes, as pictures with and/or autographs are strictly prohibited.
POSITION SPECIFICS:
• Full-time position with the Las Vegas Aviators baseball team
• Attendance at Spring Training, Minor League Baseball Meetings and Baseball Winter Meetings
• Candidates are required to be flexible; work when the games are being played, consisting of days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Availability from 9 to 5 and the duration of all games.
• In regard to social media; it is required that the candidate stay up to date on digital and pop culture trends, especially those relating to the 160 minor league baseball teams and 30 Major League Baseball teams.
