PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Las Vegas Aces are seeking a Digital Media Editor to join the storytelling team. This role will be responsible for editing both short and long format content around relevant storylines for the organization across various media platforms including network television. This position requires a highly creative and advanced level of technical skills, as they are responsible for editing network produced programming including studio shows, highlight packages and feature segments with firm production deadlines. The Digital Media Editor will work alongside a team of content professionals. Success in this role will be demonstrated by producing dynamic, entertaining features to expand market reach and increase viewer engagement.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the creation, conception, and execution of storytelling content to be published across all social media platforms and network television.
• Edit short and long format features on Aces Staff, Coaches, Players and Aces franchise to deliver new and unique pieces to promote our weekly show, ''In The Paint with the Las Vegas Aces''.
• Work with the Director of Storytelling and Digital Media Coordinator to define a cohesive vision for the Aces brand and to ensure content for weekly television shows.
• Work closely with production, social media, and graphics teams for execution of content.
• Create compelling content as assigned, as well as spur of the moment projects.
• Edit variety of player interviews, special events, press conferences and community appearances.
• Place music, dialogue, graphics, and effects within various projects, perform basic color grade and execute audio mix before exporting final deliverables to broadcast specifications.
• Organize and manage media (raw footage, final edits, etc.) to integrate into Aces production systems and flow.
• Participate in the upkeep and ideation of new editing equipment or software that would help elevate the brand.
• Consistently look for new and creative opportunities to promote our Las Vegas community, team and the Aces brand.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Journalism or Television Production.
• Relevant work experience including internships, college TV stations or previous employment as a Production Assistant.
• Minimum of 3 years editing experience short form and longform content across social media, broadcast, or other distribution platform.
• Portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of latest editing techniques and video trends.
• High proficiency in HD workflow, Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar editing software) with a working understanding of After Effects, and Photoshop.
• Hardworking, collaborative, focused, and creative with a proactive approach.
• Receptive to notes and feedback throughout the editing process.
• Excellent time management while meeting assigned deadlines.
• Proficiency in motion graphics a plus.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Valid Nevada driver's license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Experience working in sports, entertainment, or live events.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, relating to the Aces' television show.
• Strong point of view – must know what looks good, and how to make their content flow seamlessly.
• Must enjoy the collaborative process and be able to work well with other team members, including producers, graphic artists, and social media experts.
• Extremely organized, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment within tight production deadlines.
• Knowledge and experience in Corporate Partnership content creation is preferred.
• Knowledgeable and passionate about the WNBA, NBA, NCAAWBB and NCAAMBB is preferred.
