The purpose of this job description is to provide a core set of duties and responsibilities that allow both the employee and management to have a clear understanding of the purpose and essential functions of the Logger.
Job Summary
The Logger position exists to facilitate the accurate and efficient cataloging of production materials, data, and footage, ensuring all production documentation is full and complete and that all essential elements are logged.
Essential Functions
• Log story material and elements that come in from the field.
• Ensure all story elements are complete before submission, coordinating with the crews to resolve any outstanding story elements or paperwork.
• Review shows with post production personnel to ensure that accuracy of information presented
• Maintain detailed records of footage and associated assets.
Working Conditions
• General office working environment that includes several hours of continuous computer work including typing.
• Drive on occasion for several hours to and from the corporate headquarters.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, traditional office noise levels.
• Frequent use of standard office equipment including copiers, fax machines and computers.
• Sit for two or more hours at a time.
• Occasionally stand for two or more hours at a time.

• Demonstrate a solid understanding of media organization and file management
• Maintain a structured workflow throughout
• Accurately note key moments with timestamps
• Understand different video file types and compression methods
• Attention to Detail – Ensure accuracy in logs and timestamps
• Problem-Solving – Troubleshoot technical or workflow issues
• Meeting Deadlines – Log footage in a timely manner to keep projects on schedule
• Multitasking – Handle multiple video sources or projects simultaneously

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
