Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Sports Operations Intern / Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our baseball training facility and programs.
This role is responsible for ensuring smooth facility operations, supporting scheduling and communication, and assisting with program logistics. The position also provides exposure to higher-level aspects of sports operations including scheduling, staffing, player development systems, and program management.
Primary Responsibilities
Facility & Front Office Operations
• Provide front desk coverage during assigned shifts
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist families
• Coordinate and manage facility rentals (phone, email, text)
• Ensure players, coaches, and renters follow facility guidelines
• Monitor daily facility activity and address issues as they arise
Scheduling & Coordination
• Assist with practice and training schedules
• Maintain and update facility calendar for accuracy
• Support staff scheduling for practices and events
Facility Maintenance & Operations
• Maintain facility cleanliness and organization
• Assist with equipment inventory and upkeep
Administrative Support
• Assist with data entry and operational tracking
• Support registration and roster organization
• Help document daily operations and follow-up items
Learning & Development Opportunities
You will gain practical experience in how a baseball facility and programs are run, including:
• Scheduling and day-to-day operations across teams and facility use
• Working with coaches, players, and families
• Basic roster, registration, and communication workflows
• Seeing how practices, staffing, and events are organized behind the scenes
You'll also build transferable skills in organization, communication, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Ideal Candidate
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Comfortable interacting with athletes, parents, and coaches
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable and detail-oriented
• Baseball experience preferred (playing, coaching, or familiarity with the game)
Schedule
• Part-time (10–25 hours/week)
• Mix of daytime, evening, and/or weekend shifts
• Increased hours during peak seasons (late fall/winter/early spring)
