Website Developer Intern
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
TYPE: Paid Internship: Part-time/Seasonal/25-30 hours per week
REPORTS TO: Director Product and Digital Marketing
DURATION: September 2022 through end of the season
This is primarily a technical position that assists in the updating and creation of pages on Lakers.com and other Lakers digital properties and also SouthBayLakers.com and Lakersgaming.com. This includes coding using various CMS to update content, free-coding HTML and CSS, responsive site design, design of website graphics, editing photos, design of pages and site sections.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
• Update site and app on game night using CMS.
• Assist in site updates for Lakers, South Bay Lakers, and Lakers Gaming (headlines, calendar, corporate partnerships, tickets, promotions, news, photos, videos, etc.) including removal of expired content.
• Work closely with other departments to make changes and additions to secondary pages (dancers, community, tickets, etc.).
• Work with images and graphics for use on the website.
• Assist Website Developer to create and code special event web pages (All-Star, Draft, Summer League, Playoffs, etc.).
• Assist in working with NBA's Interactive Services team on site troubleshooting, maintenance and/or enhancements.
• Quality assurance testing for content and features across platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong HTML/CSS, Photoshop
• Familiar with coding for responsive sites
• JavaScript a plus
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of basketball preferred
• Must be a quick learner and willing to learn new technologies including NBA league website management tools
• Willing to work nights and weekends and all Lakers, South Bay Lakers, and Lakers Gaming games, home and away, in addition to some hours in office during normal business hours (9-5:30 M-F)
