L'Atelier Animation is an animation studio created in 2012 that specializes in the creation of TV series and full cg animated feature films. The studio has at heart the quality of the projects (eg Ballerina) and the well-being of its employees.
Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Lighting and Compositing Supervisor, the Render Wrangler is in charge of monitoring and controlling the day-to-day rendering process of the different departments, while respecting the priorities that have been given to him. He is responsible for the rendering farm and ensures its proper functioning.
Responsibilities:
Perform tasks with a strong spirit of analysis and pro-activity;
Prioritize rendering jobs in the system queue according to project priorities and look at their status regularly;
Ensure that machine resources are used to their highest potential and are always functional;
Control the renderings quality and render again if necessary;
Resolve rendering issues to ensure deadlines are met;
Inform the team as soon as a problem is encountered in rendering;
Communicate clearly to point persons and seek information as needed;
Make clear and regular reports;
Perform other related duties as required:
- Perform Layering (divide layers per shot) in Guerilla;
- Exit the technical passes (aovs, example normals, ids, pWorld ...);
- Pre-compose in Nuke;
- Check that all elements (renderings) are available to start compositing;
- Etc.
Required skills:
Have a good knowledge of full CG production process;
Ability to set priorities for heavy workloads;
Excellent communication skills;
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
Manage pressure;
Be an excellent team player;
Ability to work with minimal supervision;
Be comfortable in the LINUX / UNIX environment;
Have a minimum of experience on MAYA and / or GUERILLA;
Have knowledge / skills in lighting;
Knowing an asset manager like SHOTGUN is an asset;
Knowing a render manager like QUBE is an asset;
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Canada or have an open work permit and be willing to work in Montreal, Quebec;
