Part Time Job
Assist Director and Associate Director with essential News broadcast production requirements. Primary responsibilities include tracking status of edited content for playback in live News broadcasts and coordinating editing assignments for live shots and assigned stories from writers. Assist with quality analysis and of edited content prior to broadcast. Provide desktop editing support when required and applicable. Assist with Production Control Room (PCR) coding requirements for Ross Overdrive automation. Coordinate incoming news feeds with Newscenter Operations. Communicate feed status with writers/producers and PCR staff. Assist with News video archive management. Provide Production Manager with general and/or specific production support related to all KTLA production and News operations. File daily Material Management EOS reports and assist Production management with identifying and resolving technical and operational matters.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Television Production or commensurate experience in a related field. Familiarization and basic knowledge of Newsroom workflow and production operations processes. Specific knowledge of Newsroom production and operating systems required. Including News production rundown/script processing (ENPS/OPUS), video server operations (BitCentral/TONS), desktop editing (FCP/Adobe Premiere), Ross Overdrive PCR automation and Ross Xpression graphics. Proficient computer skills including server-based storage and play-out systems required. General knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, and Excel are a must. Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies. Willing and available to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. Associate Director experience a plus.
