Summary: Responsible for managing all accounting processes with relation to financial statements, forecasting, expense analysis, internal controls, budgets, and direct interaction with station/corporate management.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Financial Objectives: Preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements, Business Manager Report and other related financial reports. Work with station management to provide guidance for expense forecasting, analyzing variances and identifying trends in costs, collections and bad debt risks in order to make sound business decisions.
• Preparation of annual budget working with General Manager, Business Manager and Department Managers. Expense analytics to evaluate historical trends to estimate budgetary expenses.
• Operational Objectives: Maintain accounting controls, financial security with internal controls, GAAP, and make recommendations for improving and/or implementing new procedures for best business practices.
• Balance subsidiary ledgers at end of month to ensure accuracy of financial statements. Reconcile general ledger asset and liability accounts monthly for supervisor to review. Resolve accounting issues and prepare recommendations based on findings.
• Full cycle accounting: Must have strong working knowledge in the areas of A/R, A/P and payroll.
Requirements:
• 5-7 years of financial accounting experience
• Deadline driven work environment that requires excellent time management and organizational skills
• Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions
• Computer Sills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Experience in Great Plains, OSi and ADP a plus
• Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to speak effectively with staff members, station management, corporate as well as with customers or others outside the organization
• Must be a self-starter who takes initiative to get things done
• Degree in Accounting or related field
