Title: Temporary Contract Attorney
Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer
Location: Remote Position (Kin is based in Los Angeles)
Kin is looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Contract Attorney who can jump in to support our
team for several months. The Contract Attorney will be responsible for managing and handling all legal
matters and related business affairs for Kin during this time period.
This person should have professional flexibility to render limited part-time services in early fall of 2021
and transition to rendering full-time services at Kin's request sometime in November 2021. The position
is temporary, and Kin anticipates services will be needed until early spring, 2022.
Who You'll Work With:
The Contract Attorney will report to Kin's CRO and will work alongside all Kin team members to
provide legal advice and contract negotiation and drafting support.
What You'll Do:
- Identify and advise Kin's executive team on potential and actual legal issues and risks across
departments including development, programming, revenue, finance, operations, and human
resources
- Manage all production legal matters in connection with Kin's portfolio of digital and television
series
- Negotiate and draft television and digital content development and talent deals; distribution
deals with major broadcast and cable TV networks and streaming platforms; integration
and product placement agreements with brands and brand agencies; and other types of
media agreements
- Maintain Kin's legal filing systems and processes
- Stay up to speed on business and production COVID-19 related news and regulations, and
update and maintain Kin employee and crew policies and procedures accordingly
- Handle all other legal and contractual matters as they arise, and coordinate with outside counsel
if and as necessary and as approved by Kin's executive team
Who You Are:
- An organized and detail-oriented go-getter - you are motivated by a goal and aggressively
pursue it while paying close attention to detail and maintaining orderly systems and procedures
- A strategist and problem solver - you have ideas and a POV, plus the knowledge,
communication, risk analysis, and decision-making skills to implement solutions

- A relationship builder - you genuinely enjoy establishing and maintaining strong personal

What You Have:
- 5+ years of experience in business and legal affairs in television and digital media, with
preferably 2+ years at a reputable law firm
- Experience representing production companies or media companies
- JD from a top law school and membership in a state bar
- Hands-on experience negotiating and drafting the following types of agreements:
• Television program license agreements and production services agreements
• Development agreements (attachment agreements with prospective talent and
shopping agreements with producers)
• Talent agreements
• Day-to-day production legal documents, including, without limitation, appearance
releases, materials releases, location agreement, third-party content licenses, vendor
agreements
• Brand integration and product placement agreements
- Skilled in performing analysis and advising on the following types of issues:
• Clearance and intellectual property issues
• FTC and other branded content issues
• Various production issues including, without limitation, filming in public locations,
employing crew and producers, establishing and implementing COVID-19 filming
protocols, filming with minors, etc.
