Job Summary:
The Opportunity
ABC7 (KGO-TV) is the most watched local broadcaster, and serves the largest digital audience, in the San Francisco Bay Area. A driving force for our team is our commitment to coverage and community engagement around race and social justice.

The Team
The Race & Social Justice, Community Engagement intern is part of Disney's Professional Internship program. The intern will learn aspects of broadcast television and digital production skills, with a focus on ABC7's Allies in Action initiative – working to advance community engagement around social justice, solutions and advocacy-based storytelling and audience development.
You'll collaborate remotely with teams on various projects throughout the internship, including News and Programming, while promoting diversity and inclusion within our content and workplace. You'll also communicate directly with our audience members, including community leaders, organizers and allies.
Responsibilities:
Your Impact
• During the first 30 days: Learn and connect. Understand the company's mission and learn the marketing and production workflow, contribute to content creation, bring fresh perspective to pitch and planning meetings
• By month two: Assist on live programming events, write copy for digital platforms, actively engage audience
• By end of internship: Produce content with supervision, key role in helping launch youth advisory board that supports ABC7's commitment to engaging local audience on issues that impact

Internship Eligibility:
• All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
• All students must be at least 18 years old
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 18 months OR currently participating in a Disney Professional Internship
Work Environment:
• This internship is a remote internship. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space.
Program Dates:
• All candidates must be available from September to December
• All candidates must be willing to work 20 hours/week
