JOB OVERVIEW
The On-Air & Digital Fundraising Intern is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt position that will support a production of a YouTube series and the broadcast television fundraising efforts of the Membership department. The series combines video games and education, while the fundraising efforts focus on pledge breaks and spot production centered around our music and drama programs. The On-Air & Digital Fundraising Intern will assist in the pre-production, production, and post-production of the series, editing video, creating graphics, participating in pre-production meetings, supporting the team recording the series and coordinating craft services. The On-Air & Digital Fundraising Intern will report to the Senior Director, Digital & On-Air Fundraising.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Edit YouTube episodes and shorts as well as broadcast TV pledge breaks and spots using Adobe Premiere Pro
• Create graphics and animation for use in the production
• Participate in pre-production meetings with the host and producer to make decisions regarding show content, review past episodes, recommend experts to appear as guests, and strategize around marketing
• Support the production team in recording in either our Burbank, CA, office or our Costa Mesa, CA studio two to three times during the internship, assisting with cameras, lights, audio, set design, and production decisions
• Coordinate craft services for the production team, including ordering and accepting delivery
• Participate in intern events and trainings in the Costa Mesa, CA and Burbank, CA offices
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 18 years of age
• Available for a minimum of 20, but no more than 30 hours per week
• Reliable transportation access for travel to in-person meetings and events
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro
• Possess a deep interest in the mission of PBS, education and video games
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders using tact and discretion
• Ability to take initiative and problem solve in areas related to direct responsibilities while working effectively in a team environment
• Ability to successfully perform in an atmosphere of experimental projects, shifting priorities, and deadlines
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The working conditions are primarily in a general office or home setting. However, the position may require off-site travel as necessary.
