Objective
Under the direction of the Director of Digital and On-Air Fundraising, the On-Air Fundraising Producer/Editor will be responsible for implementing the tactics required to meet the fundraising goals of the television fundraising campaigns conducted throughout the year at PBS SOCAL and KCET. This will include producing live and pre-taped pledge breaks; coordination with studio crew and talent; editing pledge breaks and other fundraising video; coordination and administrative support during on-air television campaigns; and working collaboratively with the membership staff on various assignments.
Essential Functions
• To produce and edit fundraising spots for television and national and local pledge event and pledge breaks
• Coordination of live studio production while maintaining the highest standards of production and TV production values
• Produce fundraising programs for local and national distribution on PBS SOCAL, and other PBS stations
• Coordinate and/or assist with producing studio shoots and filed productions including the creation and maintenance of production schedules
• Scriptwriting for pledge breaks and spots and serve as talent for TV pledge breaks.
• Develop fundraising video for digital media
Qualifications
• Highly organized - Ability to coordinate a variety of tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Must be detailed oriented but able to see the big picture
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and editing to broadcast TV standards.
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.
• Scriptwriting experience with ability to write for different audiences.
• Occasional night and weekend work - approximately 10 days per year. Availability during all scheduled fundraising campaigns throughout the year is required.
• Must take initiative, be creative, use good judgment and have a strong sense of responsibility
• Ability to work as a cooperative team member towards a common goal and/or independently, as necessary.
• Ability to take multi-faceted creative production projects from start to finish while following outlined strategic goals
Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in TV/Radio Production, Fundraising, Communications, Marketing (a combination of experience and education will be considered)
• Minimum of 3 years of professional television production editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, graphics and audio editing systems
• Experience with television production
• Experience developing video for social media preferred
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Additionally, the On-Air Fundraising Producer-Editor must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of community and organizational partners.
Work Environment
The working conditions are primarily a general office setting. However, the position will require off-site travel to vendors and/or other such locations as necessary. Depending on the position, job duties, and subject to the discretion of the company, the position may be telecommuting eligible in whole or part.
