ABOUT PUBLIC MEDIA GROUP OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (PMGSC)
Public Media Group of Southern California (KCET, PBS SoCal and LINK TV) tell stories that matter through original programs that reflect the diversity of the region, and the full schedule of trusted PBS programs. Our content channels –KCET and PBS SoCal– are available for free on internet-connected screens and seven local broadcast channels. LINK TV can be accessed through national satellite channels.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Operations and Administration Intern supports PMGSC’s Executive Office and Operations team. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the intern will complete independent projects and provide support in the areas of nonprofit operations, project management, executive communications, research and administration. This role is primarily remote with select days in-office or at alternate locations.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Support planning and execution of Executive Office projects, staff/culture activities and stakeholder gatherings
• Support information gathering across departments for operational needs and analysis (create surveys, organize feedback, etc.)
• Help maximize effectiveness of operational processes, digital platforms and other tools through research and process improvement recommendations
• Draft presentation materials for communications to internal and external stakeholders
• Audit facility needs and explore creative solutions for organization’s evolving hybrid operating model
• Conduct independent research as directed; organize and present findings
Qualifications:
• College Student of Communications, Business, Media & Entertainment, Journalism or related field
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Collaborative and able to interact with staff of varied levels and focus areas
• Observational and analytical skills; adept at creative thinking and problem solving
• Highly organized with strong detail orientation ; able to prioritize and plan work, multi-task, and meet timelines
• Service-oriented, focused on identifying and supporting the needs of others
• Knowledge of (or interest in) nonprofit environment
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
