Job Title: Youth Development Coach – Softball/Baseball
Job Summary: We're looking for a passionate, energetic Youth Development Coach to deliver age-appropriate softball/baseball instruction across key skill areas-hitting, pitching, catching, infield, and outfield-with an emphasis on teaching introductory skills to beginners. This role involves working with youth through clinics, recreational leagues, and local school-based programs. Daytime availability is essential, as many sessions occur during school hours or immediately after school. This role will work around 20 hours per week.
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
• Deliver a pre-designed curriculum focused on softball/baseball fundamentals and progressive skill development
• Teach introductory and fundamental skills including mechanics, strategy, and sportsmanship-while encouraging fun, effort, and a willingness to try new things
• Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for players of all abilities
• Lead and maintain structure in skill-specific stations (e.g., hitting, pitching, infield, etc.) during clinics and practices
• Offer clear, supportive feedback to help youth improve their skills and build confidence
• Be punctual and consistent, ensuring sessions start and end on time
• Work collaboratively with other coaches, school staff, and program leaders
• Assist with setup and takedown of equipment, and maintain a safe, age-appropriate training environment
Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
• Demonstrated youth development experience preferred.
• Experience & knowledge of working with youth baseball and/or softball programs preferred.
• Ability to lead a group of children by giving instruction in field settings.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Possess very high degree of discretion and professionalism.
• Professional image and demeanor.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills
• Organized, dependable, and committed to showing up on time
• Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid, SafeSport, and/or MLB certifications; background check required
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift items weighing as much as 30 pounds
• Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
• Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling
