Job Title: Trainee – Food, Beverage & Retail
Job Summary: Supports the Senior Director of Food, Beverage & Retail in overseeing the organization's relationship with Aramark Sports & Entertainment. This role focuses on game day and live event operational oversight across concessions, retail, and overall fan experience
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
• Serve as a team resource for concessionaire operations across all dining and retail areas, including general concessions, in-seat service, premium spaces, suites, group areas, and team store operations.
• Conduct pregame operational rounds to verify menu board accuracy, assess line flow and queuing, and ensure cleanliness and overall stand readiness; continue monitoring and addressing these areas throughout games and live events.
• Analyze fan satisfaction surveys and feedback to identify trends and ensure service and operational standards are met.
• Collaborate with Ticket Sales & Operations, Guest Experience, Stadium Operations, and Corporate Partnerships to support and fulfill food and beverage needs for games and live events.
• Assist in testing and validating ticket offers and discounts to help ensure proper functionality across POS platforms.
• Represent the Kansas City Royals in a positive and professional manner during home games and live events.
• Support additional projects and assignments as needed.
Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including home games, live events, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong customer service mindset.
• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: prior experience in foodservice, retail, or live event operations.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift items weighing as much as 15 pounds
• Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday
• Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
• Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
• Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus
• Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling
