This is a Part Time Job
We're on the hunt for a Part-Time Assistant Archival Producer (10-20 hours per week) to join our documentary-style YouTube channel with over 6.5 million subscribers and nearly a billion total views on YouTube alone.
Local candidates in Washington, DC. will be prioritized as we'd love to be able to connect in-person from time to time, but this role offers flexibility to work remotely, fully remote candidates will be considered, and local candidates would be largely WFH.
As our Assistant Archival Producer, you'll be the go-to person for sourcing, gathering, citing, assembling, and organizing archival materials. Your work will play a huge part in shaping our visual storytelling and ensuring everything we use is top-notch. Whether it's digging through historical war footage, news articles, or government documents, you'll hunt down the highest-res clips and images and trim them down for our editing and animation teams. You'll be working closely with our Visual Producers, so a strong eye for detail, great organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects will be key as you manage the evolving needs of each video.
We're looking for someone who ideally:
Has a strong artistic eye for visuals and storytelling.
Brings experience from film or documentary production.
Is proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro for light editing work.
Has a passion for geopolitics and history.
Is highly organized, especially when it comes to tracking and sourcing third-party materials.
Has a bit of a ''detective'' mentality-ready to hunt down and clear everything from newsreels to tweets, all while meeting deadlines.
Is eager to learn and grow
Your responsibilities will include:
Sourcing, organizing, and basic editing of archival material.
Keeping track of licensing costs and processing invoices/receipts.
The hiring process will include two rounds of interviews and a brief assessment to make sure we're the perfect fit for each other.
If you're excited about geopolitics, love diving into archives, and want to help create compelling stories, we'd love to hear from you!
