Job Description:
MGM Studios is seeking an SVP Television Finance to act as a senior member of the worldwide Television and Digital Group. Reporting to the SEVP Television Operations, the SVP Television Finance, will oversee financial planning and analysis, management and financial reporting. Successful candidates will be expected to work closely with the SEVP Television Operations, President Television Group and Digital and other senior executives to provide timely business analysis to the team.
Responsibilities:
Direct the business unit planning process, including annual operating plans, actual to budget variance analysis, quarterly reforecasts and long range plans. This will include challenging the business on what could be done better.
Pro-actively partner with the SEVP Television Operations and the senior management team to design, prepare and present monthly operating reviews.
Pro-actively lead the accounting team in producing effective reporting, both for external financial reporting and management/operational reporting.
Direct the regular development and updating of television distribution ultimates for films and television programs.
Provide the sales team with accurate, timely tracking of sales activity against revenue goals and film and television program ultimates.
Provide relevant and accurate financial information to support key commercial decisions.
Build strong relationships with Business Line leaders and gain the trust of the senior management team by continually adding value to the overall success of the business.
Coach the finance organization to drive excellence.
Experience:
Bachelors degree, preferably in accounting, and a CPA certification. MBA a significant plus.
Demonstrable experience in improving controls, business processes and rigor around financial and operational metrics and the ability to analyze and present accurate and concise financial management information.
Ability to act as a business partner to provide support; a track record of providing financial analysis to support operational decision making.
Familiarity with significant industry accounting issues including revenue and cost recognition.
Excellent communication skills with the authority and credibility to gain respect both from senior management and direct reports.
Previous experience in leading a finance team in a senior financial role, and an ability to provide direction and leadership to the finance team.
Previous experience in television distribution is a plus.
