Description:
Royal Media Partners is currently seeking a full-time Video Editor to join our team. This is a full-time, fast-paced staff position based out of our Miami Beach headquarters. The Video Editor reports to the Director of Broadcast within the Media department.
Royal Media Partners, the exclusive onboard media partner of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., produces video content for two CCTV channels onboard Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise ships. The video department also produces content for use across all of RMP's integrated media outlets as well as in house training materials.
The editor should be in tune with current trends in the fashion, travel, and media industries and be able to incorporate these into the final product through editing style, use of graphic assets and creativity. Also, from time to time, the Editor will be asked to step in to assist in productions shot either in house or on location. We are seeking an applicant that will grow with the company and an industry that is ever changing.
Requirements:
The Video Editor's duties include (but are not limited to):
• Editing commercials, programming, and infomercials for broadcast on closed-looped cruise ship systems.
• Create promos and trailers for company presentations and meetings.
• Re-edit material received by clients to meet all broadcast and ship standards.
• Voice-over recording and sound design.
• Directing of voice-over talent.
• Capture and conversion of media.
• Creation of lower thirds, animation and rendering of graphic elements, logos, and visual effects.
• Color correction and keying.
• Output and conversion of final product in a variety of formats for distribution.
• Organization and file management of media and projects.
• Creative assistant in the development of projects.
• Camera operator for in-house and location shoots.
• Lighting setup, on set and on location.
• Basic production workflow and standard practices.
Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of all elements of Final Cut Studio, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator (essential).
• Experience with 3D Studio Max or equivalent (preferred).
• Must be well-versed with: the Apple Platform, HD/ DSLR digital-film cameras and their workflow, audio-boom, shotgun, lavaliere, and studio and location lighting.
• Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, a team player, and willing to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Can think outside the box and be creative.
• Have the ability to edit entertaining, fast paced spots as well as interviews and other promotional materials.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish as well as English is preferred, but not required.
This position is fast paced and content intensive. The applicant should be willing to work nights and weekends at times to meet deadlines. There is also a possibility for some travel. The applicant will be responsible for relocation to Miami if not currently local.
