IT Support Technician
TMZ is expanding our technology team. We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to assist with maintaining a busy desktop environment. This technician will troubleshoot and mitigate hardware and applications issues, as well as some minor server tasks, in order to provide continuous uptime in support of the creation and broadcast of a television show and website. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is service-oriented, proactive, and is able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a variety of dynamic personalities. This position is located in Los Angeles, CA.
Requirements:
5 years industry experience (Experiencein a TV production environment is needed)
Must have a background as desktop support technician with both Mac and PC experience
Must be familiar with client/server application model
Must have an understanding of network, server and application (both locally and installed and web based)troubleshooting
Must be able to react quicklyand efficiently to production impacting issues while under pressure
Ability to provide detailed phone support to non-technical users to include remote desktop applications for control and support
Must have Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and its use in a broadcast environment
Must be familiar with working in a ticket system for tracking work performed
Must be proficient with operating system imaging and deployment
Must have a proficient knowledge of the following operating systems: Windows XP, Windows 7, Mac OS 10.x, Windows 2003 - 2008,Linux, Microsoft Office Suites, PC & Mac
Must have a good understanding of networking and network troubleshooting to include, wireless routers/access points, patching, RJ45 cabling and ISP provided services
Must be familiar with working in a multi-tiered application environment
Must be able to support Blackberry devices and their use with a BES server
Basic knowledge of HP Infrastructure to include Proliant servers and HP desktops
Should be familiar working with SQL databases
Must be able to work in a high demand fast pace environment
Must be comfortable working with users in a desktop support role
Must be proactive in providing unprompted assistance during any crisis
Must be able to track open issues/requests and provide constant updates
Must have good communication skills
Should be available for a flexible work schedule
Must be able to perform tasks with minimal oversight
Other duties as assigned
