JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Production Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Production Services, AFI Conservatory
LOCATION: Los Angeles Campus
The Production Coordinator is responsible for supporting the needs of the Associate Dean/Director, First Year Production and the Manager, First Year Production specifically in relation to cycle production including coordinating all meetings and appointments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Coordinate Production Meetings and cycle team appointments for Fellows an Production Services staff;
• Maintain volunteer handbook and first year production resource file;
• Function as a location manager by visiting sets, meeting location owners, taking pictures of appropriate locations, revising and maintaining locations database;
• Review all production paperwork for all First Year productions;
• Participate in all production orientations during boot camp;
• Provide back up for First Year Production Manager in terms of assisting Fellows preparefor their cycle productions;
• Distribute First Year production calendar and cycle teaming grid, as needed;
• Distribute cycle production location packets to Conservatory staff and faculty;
• Issue Certificates of Insurance for First Year cycle projects;
• Maintain Volunteer Book for submissions from crew volunteers;
• Maintain location files and create resource files;
• Provide administrative support for Production Services staff, as necessary;
• Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Minimum of 3 years Administrative experience;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Excellent project management and organizations skills;
• Knowledge of the basic process and terminology of motion pictures production is desired, as is familiarity with production paperwork;
• Knowledge of Macintosh software programs including MS Word, Excel and Filemaker;
• Working knowledge of EP programs; Movie Magic Scheduling and Movie Magic Budgeting;
• Excellent people skills and a desire to work with and serve the Fellows.
SUPERVISION:
The Production Coordinator operates under the supervision of the Manager, Production Operations – 1st Year
FULL-TIME X If full-time, number of months per year 12
PART-TIME If part-time, number of hours per week
