AMOEJI FOUNDATION
The Amoeji Foundation's mission is to mentor and advocate for underrepresented young women and instill in them valuable tools to ensure that they lead successful and fulfilling lives. The foundation develops workshops that include training on tangible skill based careers and promotes entreneurship.
The Amoeji Foundation also produces two premier pageants for women of color in NY and NJ. We are looking to expand the event production team.
PR & EVENT PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
We are a fairly young, but extremely productive organization looking for high spirited, entrepreneurial minded, dedicated, fast paced new team members. The Amoeji Foundation produces two pageants for women of color in NY and NJ, produces seminars, community events and fundraisers throughout the year. Interns will report to the Executive Director and work on solicitation, planning and execution of various appearances, events, and programs. Interns will work remotely and have team meetings once per week via phone and bi-monthly in person.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting and leading on all logistics for appearances, events, and programs
• Secure and cultivate relationships with schools, colleges/universities, and other relevant organizations
• Communication and on-boarding of talent
• Soliciting and scheduling appearances and volunteer opportunities for title holders
• Social Media & PR Communication
• Other AdHoc Duties as established by the Executive Director
Requirements:
• Successful candidates will be highly organized, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and have the ability to work well on a team.
• Knowledge on the NY-NJ events and volunteer scene
• Experience securing appearances
• Candidates must also be detail oriented, able to work independently, and able to work on multiple projects at one time
• Candidates must be comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Energetic & Aggressive
• Must be available to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week.
• Premier communication skills a must
Stipend: Opportunity available to select candidates. This opportunity may turn into full time employment for the right candidate.
