Intern - PR and Marketing

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Artichoke Pictures is a releasing company based in California. We are seeking interns to assist with the release and promotions of films in theaters for the spring of 2012. You will be working with our PR and marketing partner who resides in the San Fernando Valley. We are a young, aggressive firm that conducts platform and day and date film releases; both into the larger multi-screen chain theatres as well as the indie theatres across the USA and Canada.

You will work with Artichoke's head of marketing and PR in LA who has both domestic and international experience in PR and is a founder of a European film festival. She is looking for sharp interns who learn quickly and are able to act independently in their tasks after some initial guidance. You may also assist running movie premieres, a new film festival, and entertainment based events.

This internship may be appropriate for a January, 2012 start for all students. Three interns were hired from our associated firm's intern classes of 2010-2011 in Northern California

The successful intern candidate will have previous experience in some sort of projects involving live event production, public relations, and creation and maintenance of social networking websites. It will be considered a plus if you also have experience with any of the following: TV and newsprint promotions, internet marketing, social network promotions, creation of video content for websites, buying advertising, entertainment marketing, running film festivals, and/or research of demographic and/or socialgraphic targets.

You will be first interviewed by phone from Northern California and then successful interviewees will then be referred to our marketing and PR firm in L.A.
