Senior Android Developer
Division Overview

Deluxe Digital Distribution provides turnkey video management and distribution solutions for online retailers, device manufacturers, video operators, and other IP-based solutions providers.

The ideal candidate will have an established track record implementing enterprise applications for a product company. Candidates must have experience with all aspects of software development including technical requirements analysis, software design, implementation, test, and documentation. Recent work history must include substantial time as a senior/lead software developer within a software company or an equivalent development organization. Candidates must have a proven record of success working within a team through the entire product lifecycle.

The Senior Software Developer will be part of a small group and must be able to work both independently and as part of the team.

Primary Responsibilities

- Quickly learn and build upon existing products and technologies
- Use analytic skills to deal with requirements and/or issues that may be loosely defined and the ability to further manipulate and expand on them.
- Design and implement new application functionality, including ground-up product development
- Work with technical lead to design and implement solutions
- Develop and implement testing strategies
- Create low-level implementation specifications and documentation
- Create estimates of development tasks

Required Qualifications

- 2+ years implementing Android applications on tablet and handset platforms
- 5+ years experience implementing OO solutions in an enterprise environment and a sound understanding of OO principles
- Sound knowledge of Android SDK and technologies
- Experience designing and implementing robust and reusable components
- Experience developing component and implementation documentation
- Experience using ORM technologies
- Experience integrating with RESTful API's
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- A desire to learn new skills and technologies

Desired Experience

- An understanding of Agile software development principals such as Scrum, Continuous Integration, and test-driven development
- Familiarity with DRM technologies such as Widevine and Playready
- Familiarity with content digital asset management systems
- Familiarity with video compression codecs
- A background in the media or entertainment industry
