Music Sales Manager

This is a Full Time Job

The independent record label group Century Media is seeking an experienced SALES MANAGER (MUSIC) for its Los Angeles office. Genres include: Metal, Alternative, Progressive rock, Indie and Punk.

Basic Function
Manage day-to-day dealings with our distributors in North America and keep them in the loop in terms of marketing programs, tours, and news in general. Point person for catalog and new releases to national and independent accounts across North America.

Responsibilities
1. Key liaison between record company, distribution partner(s), accounts and other associated parties.
2. Prepare a co-op marketing plan and budget for each release and assist with the proper delivery of all materials.
3. Maintain relationships with various marketing companies, independent coalitions, info sources, etc. in order to keep the flow of info as strong as possible.
4. Keep informed on current Industry trends/news/programs along with keeping in touch with like minded labels to ensure we stay on the cutting edge on all aspects of retail.
5. Work with the CM Distro sales department in the creation of new initiatives to sell more product directly to independent retail and key one-stops.
6. Oversee the growth of our digital sales while making sure that we are taking advantage of all that our distribution partners have to offer in terms of digital solicitation/delivery.
7. Gather weekly sales reports and track ebb and flow of sales/re-orders/etc.
8. Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements
*4 years of SALES experience in the MUSIC INDUSTRY
*Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including adaptability, personal effectiveness, and the ability to establish quick rapport
*Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
*Must be highly self motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive independently in a flexible, fast paced team environment
