Social Media Intern
Description:
This opportunity is a perfect fit for a creative, highly-motivated, detail-oriented, highly-skilled student of social media marketing. The student will get to work with a singer-songwriter/record label owner to promote an album release that will take place on May 1, and to engage with new audiences through the promotion of singles and other special events along the way. The intern will gain experience in creating content and in managing social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and a YouTube artist page. The intern will also learn about Spotify and Apple Music for Artists. The student will get to engage their graphic design and video editing abilities, and they will assist in video creation and editing, in capturing photo content to enliven the artist's social media presence, and in other related activities. The intern will also benefit from the opportunity to use their skills in marketing strategies and analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, and to brainstorm ideas to increase campaign effectiveness.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Work alongside the team to create a plan for social media strategies monthly.
• Create and edit visual content for these platforms such as photos and videos
• Assist in the growth of the brand by raising awareness through various social media platforms.
• Monitor postings to ensure brand message is consistent from the terminology used to images posted.
• Aid in the daily aspects of promoting the businesses campaigns
• Interact with followers and potential customers by communicating and answering questions through the business's social pages
• Assist in implementing plans to increase followers on popular social media websites including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and SoundCloud
• Optimize social media platforms
• Perform key word analysis
• Use analytics to gauge the success of campaigns.
Required Qualifications:
• Majoring in entertainment marketing, business, public relations or a related field. Additional knowledge such as Google Analytics preferred.
• a positive can-do attitude as well as the desire to constantly learn and improve
• Able to choose and create visual content that communicates the business's branding
• Comfortable with working with photo and video editing software such as Photo Shop and iMovie
• Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and internet ranking for web content
• Experience determining how to cater unique marketing campaigns to a unique audience
• Energetic and creative
• Hard-working and team-oriented
• Comfortable with working with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites as well as Mac applications
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiar with multi-social posting through programs such as Hootsuite
• Has own car for driving to on-site locations for video, concerts, etc. If out-of-town or extensive in-town driving is required, student will be reimbursed for gas costs.
Hours:
An average of ten hours per week with a flexible schedule (must be available Tuesdays, Thursdays, and/or Weekends; some evenings for special events)
