This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with established industry leaders while helping identify and cultivate emerging Canadian talent.
About the Role
As an A&R Intern, you will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and tracking promising Canadian artists across multiple genres. You'll gain direct exposure to the strategic side of artist development, catalog growth, and music industry deal flow.
Key Responsibilities
-Scout and identify emerging Canadian artists across streaming platforms, social media, live showcases, and regional music scenes
-Track market trends and analyze streaming data, fan engagement, and growth metrics
-Build curated artist shortlists with strategic insights and development potential
-Assist in outreach coordination and introductory communications
-Monitor Canadian music releases, industry news, and talent pipelines
-Support A&R research for catalog acquisitions and artist partnerships
Qualifications
-Based in Canada with strong knowledge of the Canadian music landscape
-Deep passion for music and artist development
-Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
-Familiarity with Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, YouTube, SoundCloud, and chart analytics tools
-Self-starter with strong attention to detail
-Excellent written communication skills
Preferred (Not Required)
-Experience in music, talent management, publishing, or entertainment
-Background in business, marketing, media, or music studies
-Existing network within Canadian music communities
