Contributing Writer and Section Editor

This is a Freelance Job

We are looking for contributing writers and a section editor for our Celebrities & Influencers section.

You work in entertainment, talent or creator media and know how a brand deal, a launch or a sighting turns into a story.
You would write positive, brand and business based pieces on celebrities and creators: partnerships, ventures, campaigns, community work and appearances. No gossip.

Contributing Writers
• 400 to 600 word pieces, reported and sourced, with a real credited photo. Story ideas welcome; editors reply on every submission.
• Pitch or file through our contributor portal. Every piece goes through editor review before it publishes.
• Byline on every piece and your own author page on the site.

Section Editor
• You own the Celebrities & Influencers section page: its editorial calendar, editing and approving contributor pieces for accuracy, sourcing and voice, commissioning writers, and growing the section's audience.
• Editors never sell advertising. Coverage stays independent.
• Qualified editors receive a short questionnaire about their experience and their plan for the section.

Who fits
• Published bylines required. Include 2 to 3 published clips; applicants are judged on their clips.
• Published samples in Celebrities & Influencers we can read today (your own outlet, a trade publication or a newsletter).
• You already work in or around this industry and know its people, brands and calendar.
• Plain, confident writing. No hype, no politics.
• Remote. US-based preferred. Contract. $25 per hour.
