Job Description:
This internship provides an individual with an interest in music licensing, music acquisitions and sales the opportunity to learn several of the business and administrative aspects associated with synchronization licensing. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented and technically savvy. He or she should possess a broad understanding of the music industry, as well as a keen ability to make decisions and understand its potential impact on the business. Excellent communication, critical and creative thinking, and great organizational skills are essential. We are looking for candidates who are interested in learning about the business as well as the creative process of music licensing, administration, sales and music acquisitions.
Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
Performing Rights Organization title registrations
Contracts administration and processing
Maintain Catalog and Artist Acquisitions spreadsheets
Responsible for making sure Catalog Manager receives all newly acquired audio for ingestion into the Music Licensing Catalog
Conduct research to identify clients that will most benefit from the use of the styles of music typically represented by ishlab® including but not limited to Urban (R&B and Hip-Hop), Electronic, Rock and Pop
Responsible for trade research and reporting
Maintain awareness of what genres of music are in high demand by media clients
Acquire new music to be licensed
Pitch licensing catalogue to future clients
prepare sales materials
Sales outreach
line-up sales leads
Requirements:
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of synchronization and performance licensing is a plus
Resourceful approach to data gathering, particularly regarding niche markets
Must be enthusiastic about working for a start-up and be flexible in adapting to rapidly changing priorities
