Description:
The Midwest Agent at is responsible for routing tours, securing live performance contracts, and developing relationships with talent buyers across the central United States. They act as the primary liaison between the agency's artist roster and regional promoters and presenters.
This is a full-time remote position requiring availability during Eastern Time Zone business hours. Salary is commission-based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tour Routing & Booking: Researching suitable regional venues, festivals, and colleges in the Midwest to build efficient, lucrative tour itineraries to maximize artists' earning potential and career visibility.
- Contract Negotiation: Pitching artists to talent buyers, securing offers, and negotiating performance dates, guarantees, deposits, fee collection, and technical/hospitality riders.
- Relationship Management: Nurturing a localized network of venue operators, promoters, presenters, and event organizers to ensure repeat business and create new opportunities.
- Collaboration: Working internally with marketing, management, and the artist to align live performance goals with broader career objectives.
- Travel: Some travel for business meetings/conferences is required. Local client concert attendance is required.
- Miscellaneous: Tackle additional tasks as needed in the unpredictable workflow of the music industry - as job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: At least 8 years industry experience with a proven track record in talent booking, artist management, or concert promotion.
- Communication & Sales: Exceptional assertiveness, confidence, and sharp negotiation skills to secure the best performance fees and terms.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with PCs, Microsoft Office software, industry-standard CRM software/databases, routing programs, and calendar management tools to track holds and confirmations.
- Regional Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Midwestern live music scene, promoters, presenters, venue capacities, market dynamics, and routing logistics is strongly preferred.
- Remote Workspace: Access to a suitable, camera-ready workspace with reliable internet service.
- Communication: Fluency in English and strong communication skills are required. Ability to work in an exceptionally fast-paced environment, as a skilled multitasker, remaining cool under pressure.
