Production Bookkeeper / Accountant

This is a contracted position (with potential for ongoing work).
This is a remote position. There is no requirement to be present at our Pasadena office.
Responsibilities:
* Manage bookkeeping and accounting functions in QuickBooks Online.
* Import, review, categorize, and accurately post high volumes of financial transactions.
* Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
* Maintain and review the general ledger, ensuring transactions are properly coded.
* Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
* Recommend and implement more efficient bookkeeping workflows, including automation where appropriate.
* Collaborate with management on financial reporting and accounting procedures.
* Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and audit-ready.
Qualifications:
* 3–5+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
* Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online
* Experience importing and managing large transaction volumes.
* Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
* Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and recommend process improvements.
Preferred:
*Intuit QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent accounting credential is a plus.
* Experience implementing accounting automation or workflow improvements.
* Experience working with small businesses, creative agencies, or production companies.
