Must have reliable transportation. Ownership of a vehicle is preferred, but not required.
This internship provides hands-on experience across every stage of documentary filmmaking—from development and production through post-production, distribution, finance, and marketing. Interns work directly with our team while gaining insight into how an independent documentary production company operates behind the scenes.
Production Intern Requirements:
Production interns play an essential role in the day-to-day operations of the company. While there are opportunities to assist with production-related activities, much of the internship focuses on developing the organizational and administrative skills that keep documentary productions running smoothly.
Responsibilities include:
Filing, scanning, and organizing production and financial documents
Assisting with bookkeeping tasks such as updating general ledgers, organizing receipts, QuickBooks support, and purchasing production supplies
Organizing physical and digital production materials
Managing and maintaining the shared drive
Assisting with email correspondence and production coordination
Supporting media management and archival projects
Assisting with research and other production office tasks as needed
We're looking for interns who are highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working with repetitive tasks, and eager to learn how the operational side of documentary filmmaking works. Strong communication skills, financial literacy, time management, and the ability to quickly learn new systems are highly valued.
Production interns will also have opportunities to interact with filmmakers and media professionals and attend industry screenings and events throughout the semester.
We are looking for someone who is willing and eager to learn, a strong communicator, stays organized, is a critical problem solver, and a self-starter.
We are open to considering candidates interested in a variety of areas including social media, web design, business administration, production coordination, editing (knowledge of AVID a plus!), technical/camera work, and much more.
