THE ROLE
Insomniac Events is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Insomniac Merchandising & Design Intern to join the Apparel team in Los Angeles and Calabasas. This position will assist with the process of design and merchandising. This position reports to Director, Merchandising. This is a paid internship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the concepting and design of the apparel & accessories lines for multiple Insomniac festivals and brands.
• Work on all aspects of the design process, including but not limited to mockups, design cads, graphic art, layouts, color ups, line plans, etc.
• Assist on photo shoots of the merchandise and preparation for eccom selling and marketing launch.
• Assist with research and testing to understand user experience and recognize design solutions.
• Brainstorming and research on innovative designs and concepts for merchandise lines alongside designers & merchandiser.
• Assist in Tech Pack development. Work with Design team to ensure Tech packs are correct and executed in a timely manner.
• Partner with design and development teams in reviewing prototypes, photo samples, and submits for approval for all categories from design concept to production.
• Manage PLM data entry and maintain data integrity.
• Establish effective partnerships across the organization: Design, Merchandising, Development, Planning, Marketing and Festival Production.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school Enrollment in degree program for graphic design or apparel design preferred
• Must be able to work out of DTLA and Calabasas offices
• Must have a strong portfolio that demonstrates a clear understanding of Fashion design, graphic design, layout, color and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
• Must be an enthusiastic team player excited about pushing boundaries
• Typical commitment is 16-24 hours per week
• Must be motivated with an ''Everything is possible'' attitude
• Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
• Knowledge of dance music and Insomniac's brands
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
• Must be willing to travel to intern events during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines

Hiring Hourly: $18.00- $18.00 USD
