Part Time Unpaid Internship
Insignia Films (dir. Stephen Ives) is seeking an intern with serious interest in documentary film, history, and/or journalism. Interns must be able to receive school credit.
This is a great opportunity for students looking to get practical experience in PBS-style documentary film and see what goes into producing documentaries in general. As an intern, you would be involved with project research, production planning, assisting on set on production days, and assisting with post production & archival research, among other areas. We are also open to shaping the internship around your interests.
We are currently in development on a number of projects which range from Universal Basic Income (UBI), the dancer and choreographer Alvin Ailey, American Veterans, and more.
Previous Insignia Films productions include the landmark PBS series The West and Reporting America at War, as well a four part series for TPT, Constitution USA with Peter Sagal and many more films for the WGBH series American Experience, including Roads to Memphis, Las Vegas, Seabiscuit, Custer's Last Stand, Grand Coulee Dam, 1964, The Big Burn, and a three part series on WWI that aired on PBS earlier this year.
Interns are asked to commit to at least two full days per week (10am-6pm) over the course of the semester. Insignia offers a daily stipend of $20 and course credit is required. Applicants must be current undergraduate and/or graduate students. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can start early January, the latest being end of January.
