Job Description:
The Lead Animator is responsible for supporting the Animation Supervisor in designing and creating the motion of digital characters, vehicles, and props within shots or sequences on a production. This role involves leading a team of animators, overseeing the aesthetic and technical approach to animation, and ensuring the achievement of these goals within the production timeframe.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead a team in creating outstanding animation for digital creatures, humans, vehicles, and props within a shot, using various animation software programs.
• Comprehend and execute direction from the Animation Supervisor.
• Oversee the work of entry, mid, and senior-level animators, providing day-to-day support and guidance.
• Participate in determining aesthetic and technical solutions, and provide feedback within production dailies.
• Aid in the training and mentoring of new Animators.
• Help drive the design and execution of animation tools required for production.
• Perform hands-on shot work to set the desired look and standard for the team, and provide reference for animation goals.
