Position at ILMxLAB
As a Rendering/Graphics Engineer you will develop new techniques for real-time rendering, deliver tools and technology that empower storytellers, and collaborate with our sister company, Industrial Light & Magic, to leverage existing knowledge and solutions. You will set new bars for what can be achieved with real-time rendering.
We are looking for an engineer who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative mindset, and passion for great storytelling that define ILM and ILMxLAB.
What You'll Do
• Investigate, prototype, and implement solutions for high-fidelity, real-time rendering.
• Extend and create solutions for lighting, VFX, post-processing while maintaining performance
• Optimize and debug issues related to graphics
• Work with artists and senior engineers to realize their vision for rendering features and workflow.
• Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to plan and manage tasks and schedules effectively.
• Partner with other engineers to form a highly productive team.
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Scientific discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
• 3 years professional experience as a software engineer in games and/or rendering.
• Excellent at 3D math (linear algebra, vector math)
• Strong knowledge of C/C programming languages.
• Professional experience working with Unreal Engine
• Hands on, professional experience with implementing real-time rendering features.
• Experience using industry standard graphics APIs (DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan, etc.) and shader languages (HLSL/GLSL/Cg).
• Understanding of the roles and use of relevant DCC packages (e.g. Houdini, Substance Painter, Z-Brush) is strongly desired
• Self-motivated individual with excellent problem solving skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and then implement new techniques.
