This is a Full Time Job
Director of Distribution Services needed for independent studio involved in the production and distribution of motion pictures, television, music, and interactive games.
The Director of Distribution Services will be responsible for reviewing and approving the technical contents of the Materials Delivery Schedules for Acquisitions Agreements and International Licensing Agreements; ensuring delivery of all materials required to achieve successful exploitation of each film property; as well as ensuring contractual delivery commitments to international licensees can be met.
• Oversee delivery of 35mm film, video and digital materials, evaluating elements to ensure they meet current industry standards
• Receive, review and accept delivery of physical elements from licensors; securing QC reports on all materials and managing re-delivery for any rejected materials
• Manage contractual delivery of physical elements to international licensees throughout the world
• Negotiate and secure lowest possible bids for all vendor jobs
• Manage external vendors in the creation of 35mm feature and trailer prints
• Manage external vendors to coordinate various stages of the DVD production process across multiple titles, including menu design, creation of dubbed audio tracks and subtitle files, compression, authoring and QC
• Collaborate with marketing department on product development and title configuration
• Facilitate the creation of bonus materials on select titles
• Update production schedules and tracking reports on all titles. Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget
• Prepare project spec sheets, ensuring that they have proper feature run-time and aspect ratio information, audio configurations, subtitle treatment, and trailer and bonus feature information and run-times
• Review Blu-Ray/DVD compression, emulation, and test disc QC reports and work with external vendors to remedy any technical issues or rejections
• Manage all technical dub and screener requests from the marketing, publicity and creative departments
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years experience managing technical asset delivery and DVD production
• Technical knowledge of 35mm pre-printing elements, video formats, aspect ratios, audio standard, and audio track configurations for video and digital delivery is required
• Experience in delivering materials to international territories
• Experience in interpreting QC reports to resolve technical rejections as well as being able to determine what rejections are legitimate
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must to liaise between licensors, licensees, internal departments and external vendors to coordinate delivery of materials in a timely manner and to anticipate any unexpected problems
• Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while shifting priorities as needed
• Knowledge of Hollywood software a plus
