IndieWire is seeking a skilled and versatile Producer/Editor who thrives both in the field and in post-production. This hybrid role demands strong technical abilities, creative instincts, and a collaborative spirit. Ideal candidates will bring experience in branded content, digital storytelling, and film journalism, with a deep appreciation for the craft of cinema. We are a fast-paced, internationally recognized media company based in Los Angeles/NYC, focused on independent film and television. Our team produces editorial and sponsored video content spotlighting high-profile talent, industry trends, and live events.
Role Overview
This position blends editorial video production with branded content execution. You'll work closely with the Executive Video Producer to shoot, edit, and deliver content for a variety of platforms – from long-form features to social-first verticals.
Key Responsibilities
Production (Field & Studio):
• Shoot and produce interviews, panels, sizzles, red carpets, and branded content
• Coordinate logistics: scout locations, prep gear, and liaise with talent/publicists and call sheets
• Produce at live events including award shows, red carpets, panels and festivals
• Execute brand briefs while maintaining editorial standards
• Anticipate shoot needs and work independently in the field
• Oversee freelance producers, camera operators, and editors during field shoots and post-production
• Provide detailed creative and editorial notes to editors to ensure high-quality content
• Manage and track budgets for freelancers and individual shoots
• Coordinate scheduling and deliverables across multiple freelance teams
• Ensure all freelance work aligns with brand standards, deadlines, and production goals
Post-Production (Editing):
• Edit both horizontal and vertical video content using Adobe Premiere Pro
• Cut social deliverables for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X
• Implement brand guidelines and platform-specific storytelling strategies
• Write VO or on-screen copy for news and branded segments (as needed)
• Source cost-effective footage, B-roll, music, and visual assets
• Media manage all project files and organize footage for delivery
• Receive and incorporate client and editorial notes efficiently
Visual Effects Sound Sensibility
• Must stay on top of the latest editing software updates, plugins, and post-production trends
• Skilled in using visual effects, transitions, and motion graphics to create polished, visually dynamic edits
• Strong editorial instinct for pacing and rhythm, with a sharp ear for music that enhances story and tone
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, with working knowledge of After Effects and basic audio tools (Audition or similar)
• Experienced in applying audio effects and sourcing music from libraries that align with brand and platform needs
• Brings a creative approach to integrating sound design and visuals across short-form and long-form formats for multi-platform delivery
Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in media, entertainment, or branded content production; experience in television production is a strong plus.
• Proficient and operate Canon C200 and similar cinema-grade cameras with confidence or be open to educating yourself
• Advanced Adobe Premiere Pro skills (After Effects a plus)
• Strong storytelling instincts and visual aesthetic
• Experience producing content with high-profile talent and clients
• Deep knowledge of social and digital formats (horizontal, square, vertical)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and under tight deadlines
• Familiarity with branded content workflows and client-facing edits
Preferred (Bonus) Skills
• Motion graphics or After Effects experience
• Copywriting or scriptwriting for video
• On-camera or voiceover talent experience
• Knowledge of video SEO and YouTube publishing best practices
• Prior work at film festivals, red carpets, or major entertainment events

As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Typical wage range: $70k - $75k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. PMC is committed to the health and wellness of our employees.
