Filmmaker Liaison

This is a Part Time Job

The 2013 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is currently seeking a Filmmaker Liaison

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as the primary point of contact for filmmakers
• Book filmmaker travel and hotel accommodation
• If needed, negotiate discounted rates with local hotels for attending filmmakers and other festival guests
• Work closely with the programming department to ensure proper information
• Manage the Filmmaker Check-in at the festival and ensure the area is organized and filmmakers feel welcome at all times
• Work with the Transportation Coordinator to arrange ground transportation for attending filmmakers
• Work with the Events department to coordinate filmmaker events
• Coordinate filmmaker ticket requests and RSVP's for events at the festival
• Distribute filmmaker festival survey and compile feedback to be submitted in wrap report
• Submit weekly status reports in addition to attending specified staff meetings and conference calls as scheduled
• Report to Festival Producer
• Submit wrap report after the festival, per guidelines provided by the Festival Producer

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Previous experience with film festivals
• Good knowledge of the Indian film community
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, including strong writing skills
• Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Google docs)
• Must be able to work independently, take initiative and be detail oriented
• Resident of Los Angeles or surrounding area
• Ability to devote 10 to 15 hours/week
• Car with valid driver's license

Seasonal part-time starting in January 2013. Small stipend provided.
