IMAX internships offer currently-enrolled college/university students visibility, hands-on learning, and practical work experience in a fun, friendly environment. We are committed to challenging and developing creative, hardworking students through a variety of interesting projects and responsibilities to supplement the student's classroom training. Interns are encouraged to explore, develop and share their ideas while gaining valuable experience in the Information Technology.
Although this is a paid internship, student must be eligible to receive college/university course credit. Intern must provide documentation confirming receipt of course credit before starting internship. IMAX does not provide housing or relocation assistance.
OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Technical Specialist, the Information Systems Intern will provide project support to Information Systems staff and assist in day- to-day IT activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Research, develop, and write an RFP to upgrade IMAX's I.T. Helpdesk Management Service.
• Research and Assist the Information Systems Group in the conversion of Windows servers to Windows Server 2012.
• Assist in the development of a Corporate Lync 2013 platform.
• Assist in answering and processing Help Desk call.
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions for various I.T. hardware and software challenges
• Ability to compose business proposals to resolve outstanding I.T. issues or to enhance existing systems
• Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users
• MS SQL programming experience and knowledge in SQL report writing.
• Self-starter, well-organized, able to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet savvy
• PC and Laptop trouble shooting skills are a definite asset.
• Knowledge of SAP and .Net, and Microsoft technologies are a definite asset.
