Illume Public Relations, a boutique tech PR agency based in Santa Monica is seeking two interns for the fall 2016 semester. Ideal candidates are positive and energetic and currently studying PR, communications, digital media, journalism or a related field and able to receive school credit. Candidates should be available for 21-28 hours/week for the three-month program. Interns will be gain hands on experience and be exposed to a vast array of public relations activities and will work closely with account staff on all projects.

By nurturing a tight-knit professional environment where senior management remains deeply involved in every campaign, Illume serves as the defacto in-house PR team for its clients. Illume is headquartered in Santa Monica with an office in NYC.
Job Description
The ideal candidates have a basic understanding of public relations and social media including navigating platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etc. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Docs is a plus. S/he has excellent writing and organizational skills and is highly motivated and detail oriented. Candidates should have the ability to handle multifaceted projects and have strong follow through. Candidates should be available for 21-28 hours a week for the three-month internship program and able to receive school credit.
Activities include:
*Participate in account brainstorms and team meetings
*Monitor industry and client news
*Create press coverage reports
*Learn PR tools such as Cision, Meltwater News, etc
*Build and maintain press lists
*Draft press materials such as press releases, pitches, bios and/or fact sheets
*Create copy for social media posts
*Event planning and support
*Conducting and compiling market and target demographic research
*Supporting the team with ad hoc admin request
