Assistant to Senior Motion Picture Literary Agent
ICM Partners, a major talent and literary agency with offices in LA, NYC and London, is seeking an exceptional, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Assistant to a Senior Motion Picture Literary Agent with strong project management and communication skills. Ideal candidate is someone who is excited to work in the world of talent representation, film financing, and film sales. This is a stimulating position for people who have a passion for good storytelling and want to learn the mechanics of the film business by observing how an agent networks, advocates for their clients, and builds successful careers for artists.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Draft letters, memos, and other materials
• Prepare and revise correspondence/internal and external documents/reports
• Read and review incoming materials (scripts, books, etc.) on behalf of clients and agent
• Act as a liaison between inquiring parties and agents/authors
• Handle and route incoming phone calls and emails
• Manage agent's calendar and appointments
• Act as a liaison between clients, buyers, financiers and executives
• Assist with special projects, tracking information, and research information as needed
• Researching account details of contracts
• Maintain filing system and ensure filing remains current
• Other varied administrative responsibilities
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree required
• At least one year of administrative experience or strong internship experience required
• Adept at quickly learning new processes, technology, and ability to become familiar with systems
• Must be up to date on latest film business news
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with colleagues, clients and buyers
• Must have superb organizational, time management, and project management skills with an exceptionally strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information discreetly and with diplomacy
• Unafraid to ask questions
• Proficiency in MS office, Excel and Outlook
• Must have a love for reading and a passion for books!
Education:
BA/BS degree with a strong academic record. Concentration in areas of Business, Film, Law, and Literature etc. strongly preferred.
Experience: A minimum of a year of work experience in a professional office environment strongly preferred.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Expert level with Windows/PCs. Knowledge and experience with multi-line office phones.
