Job Title: PUBLISHING MARKETING COORDINATOR
Reports to: VP of Sales and Marketing
Position Scope: Responsible for globally assisting the Publishing Sales & Marketing department, with an emphasis on maintaining the company's social media platforms and supporting the VP of Sales and Marketing's strategy surrounding comic book and graphic novels out of Company's catalog.
Priorities:
• Support VP of Sales and Marketing in liaising with distributors (print & digital), vendors, and contractors
• Execute marketing and promotional activities
• Assist in organization of events, awards and tradeshows
• Participate in content, execution, and analysis for social media and PR campaigns tied to broader marketing programs
Essential Duties:
MARKETING
• Participate in Company's overall marketing and branding strategy, including assisting external contractors and/or consultants
• Manage, maintain, and track marketing department's budget, calendar deadlines, including but not limited to all ad campaigns
• Copywrite and develop content across a variety of platforms (e-mails, blogs, web content, print, newsletters (Customer & Press facing newsletters))
• Coordinate advertising needs (booking, design, delivery)
• Execute management of social and community channels and strategy under guidance of VP and/or external consultants, leading to an increase in followers, engagement, and views
• Create content to accompany IP and brand campaigns, like GIFs and video clips
• Pull and participate in analyzing data to inform best practices for our social accounts and audience strategy
• Research and analyze marketing-related competitor information and industry trends
• Identify potential new marketing avenues and propose related plans (ie: Podcasting, community build out, ambassadors/influencers, cross-promotion opportunities, etc.)
• Research and participate in Awards submissions
• Research keywords and link-build campaigns, and build online communities, coordinating efforts with rest of Sales & Marketing department
• Coordinate with Editors in liaising with Creators with regards to product-related marketing and event plans
• Work with Editorial to facilitate Advance Reader Copies (ARCs) and previews
• Participate in solicitation/presentation of titles & material with respective distribution entities, especially with regards to marketing
ADMINISTRATION
• Participate in Website content management (homepage and other public-facing sections)
• Participate in compiling metadata as it relates to marketing plans, press quotes, etc.
• Field phone calls, distribute messages and handle inquires
• Maintain expense reports for Marketing department
• Maintain Server filing for Marketing department
• Organize conference calls, meetings and travels for department
• Ship and receive packages
PRESS RELATIONS
• Build relationships with Industry Press
• Liaise with press for publishing related coverage
• Assist with writing & distribution of press releases
• Assist in collaboration with external PR contacts & agencies and contractors, including liaising between departments and creators to compile and disseminate material and information
• Handle press inquiries
• Compile and disseminate press blurbs, both internally and externally
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
• 2-3 years of professional experience in marketing, in media and/or publishing a plus
• Knowledge of and interest in all main and demographic specific social channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Discord, Snapchat, etc.
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the entertainment industry, and comic book and publishing space, including press outlets
• Experience with earned and paid media is a plus
• Comfortable using data to tell a story
• Experience in tradeshow and event coordination a plus
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude, ability to be resourceful and find solutions to projects and problems
• French speaking is a plus
• Must be proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, Adobe Suite for Mac environment, including InDesign or similar design tools to create your own assets
• Ability to work with flexible hours and to travel when needed
• Valid driver's License
