Part Time Unpaid Internship
Duration/Starting date: Immediately
Time commitment: 10-15 hrs per week
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship
HUMANITAS is looking for a reliable and motivated individual to handle administrative support responsibilities. The intern will be responsible for supporting the Program Coordinator and Development Associate with routine assignments, research, and administrative tasks.
In addition to providing insight into an engaged workforce and fast-paced office environment, this internship will be responsible for the following duties:
Answers and directs phone calls, voice mail, and e-mail; greets visitors, clients and staff; responds to general questions; refers inquiries as appropriate; takes messages.
Updates and maintains filing systems, including confidential files; sets up new files; receives, pulls and files documents and records
Types correspondence, reports, memos, forms and related materials with accuracy, completeness and in compliance with departmental procedures
Inputs, updates, searches and retrieves data using spreadsheets, computer databases and various automated systems
Opens, dates, screens, sorts, routes and processes mail
Prepares information packets and packets of required forms; maintains client/public information, fact sheets, and supplies
Schedules appointments; maintains the office calendar
Schedules meetings and makes appropriate arrangements such as contacting participants, reserving rooms, and assembling materials and documents
Qualifications
Proficient command of English grammar and spelling
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and iWork Suite
Past Office Administration experience is a plus but not required
Education
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Pursuing a bachelor's degree or have graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university within the last year.
