Hulu is searching for an exceptional Video Editor and Shooter to bring technical prowess and creative intuition to our small internal production team. We're looking for someone that is comfortable behind-the-camera 40% of the time and a capable FCP editor 60% of the time, who can operate as a one-man-band in production and post-production. We run our own internal studio where we write, direct, and produce everything from TV content promos for Hulu Exclusive and Hulu Original series; to promotional product videos and commercials for Hulu and Hulu Plus. We are looking for smart, skilled, passionate folks to join our small, but growing team.
Responsibilities
Pulling, transcoding, syncing, and logging existing or original footage
Edit existing and original material into sizzles, ads, promos, and short form content
Clip TV and film content for a variety of promotional material
Finishing projects with color, sound mixing, titling and mastering
Interface with internal and external clients
Provide production support to our internal communications, Hulu Original Series and marketing teams
Shoot live action sequences for EPK, BTS and promotional spots featuring talent from Hulu Original and Exclusive series on our internal sound stage and on location.
Collaborate with producers, designers, and assistant editors on quick-turnaround, compelling creative
Act as the primary cinematographer and camera operator for all shoots in the greater Los Angeles area and elsewhere
Maintain network of freelancers to assist on projects beyond the bandwidth of the team
Organize, maintain and recommend production equipment as the needs of the team evolve
Work with and supervise crew during studio set-up and breakdown of shoots
Qualifications
At least 5 years editing and shooting experience with a bachelor's degree
Technically proficient camera operator with experience shooting, lighting, and sound recording
Experience working with a variety of camera workflows for post-production including ingest for RED, Alexa and 5D, as well as on-set production experience as an assistant editor or DIT
Knowledge of most video codecs and formats and the ability to ingest, transcode, and move between camera workflows and formats flawlessly
Expert editor in Final Cut Pro
Comfortable working in Soundtrack Pro, Pro Tools, After Effects, Motion, and Photoshop
Must be meticulous, technical, organized, multi-tasking and creative at the same time
Must be able to give and receive critical feedback in a small team environment
Passionate about storytelling and making things look beautiful
