SUMMARY
Hulu’s Content Acquisition team is seeking a Summer 2021 MBA Intern to be an integral part of the content team. Our industry is evolving at a rapid pace, and you’ll get the opportunity to roll up your sleeves, jump in, and take ownership in helping us tackle important strategic challenges of the content business today. Intern projects advise our content strategy by developing insights and actionable plans that can be executed by our team. Given how quickly our industry changes, no two intern projects are the same. Previous examples include: how we can create frameworks around entering new markets (e.g. eSports or Virtual Reality), how we can value first window exclusive content, and how we can make the family co-viewing experience more robust. This role demands someone who can blend quantitative analysis with a strong subjective filter. We’re small enough that everyone directly interacts with senior business leaders, sharing recommendations and debating the best path forward. The right person for this role loves to solve problems, is a die-hard fan of content and the media industry, and has phenomenal analytical and strategic chops. If you are someone who has new, innovative ideas on how Hulu can continue to change the media landscape across film and television, then this is the role for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Complete projects and presentations that drive efforts of the Content Acquisition team and Hulu’s content strategy
• Evaluate strategic growth opportunities informed by a deep understanding of competitive market developments and detailed analysis of content consumption data
• Partner with stakeholders across marketing, data science, finance, product, and ad sales to utilize internal research and develop understanding of needs across organization
• Form hypotheses, plan out analyses, gather data, and deliver well-supported recommendations for moving innovative content investment strategies forward to execution
WHAT TO BRING
• Currently enrolled in an MBA program with a target graduation no earlier than Summer 2022
• An almost-obsessive love for all things film and television, as well as deep industry knowledge in the entertainment and the digital media space
• Ninja-like skills in Excel and ability to transform analysis into compelling stories in PowerPoint
• Ability to thrive in an undefined environment, prioritizing and balancing multiple projects concurrently, often with little supervision
• Finely honed sense of humor and willingness to participate in lively debates
